Bobby Goldsmith Foundation

2 - 8 March 2017

This show is the culmination of the 2016 Art Phoenix program run by The Bobby Goldsmith Foundation (BGF)

Phoenix Art aims to provoke dialogue to support HIV+ artists creatively express themselves and preserve an artistic legacy. Each course is open to ten people living with HIV. In addition to producing artworks, the program acts as a conduit for connecting people with shared experiences, increasing socialisation and improving self-esteem.

The title of the exhibition - ‘HIV heArt’ - was selected by recent Phoenix artists to represent their love and passion for art and also to demonstrate how participating in the course helped fulfil their lives.

BGF seeks opportunities to provide artists and its program greater exposure.

HIV is not over, and BGF are committed to preserving and honouring the work of artists with HIV and the artistic contributions of the HIV movement. BGF embrace diversity and difference in staff, artists and audiences.
